Camper launches the 12th issue of The Walking Society focused on Corsica
Spring/Summer 2022
Camper launches the 12th issue of The Walking Society, a digital and print magazine exploring the mountainous Mediterranean island of Corsica.
The latest edition focuses on the people, landscapes, and culture of this multifaceted region, including thought-provoking interviews with creatives and explorers native to the island. Stories examine modern daily life and traditional Corsican heritage, presenting vibrant images and illustrations of residents and wildlife.
Positioned south of France and west of Italy, Corsica is the most mountainous island in the Mediterranean. Fusing two cultural identities, French and Italian, Corsica has a rich and complex history that traces back millennia. Geologically formed by a mountain range protruding from the sea, its unspoiled national parks feature dramatic peaks trekked by Corsican goats, the source of the area’s most famous cheeses.
Originally launched in 2001, the first issue of The Walking Society focused on Mallorca, Camper’s native island home. The series ran for four years and eight editions before being revisited in 2020, returning to rediscover emblematic Mediterranean destinations like Mallorca, Sicilia and Cyprus.
