For this season the modern gentleman is an edgy urbanite at times and a romantic wanderer at others. He reveals a bright and creative side inspired by modern art and the electric days of 60’s pop-culture. Silhouettes are streamlined for retro effect. Prints and palettes take a cue from the arts with painterly strokes and bold punchy shades. References of the great outdoors offer the perfect occasion to rug up with generous coats in blanket check patterns. There are new exciting fabrications, which are both refined and playful. For the party season we toast the wild nights ahead with feather motifs, elegant suits and dandy accessories to match. BOHEMIAN GENTLEMAN Our bohemian gent is marked by a youthful joie de vivre. A born romantic and an intrepid traveller he has gathered a trove of inspiration from the eclectic world around him. We see classic prints such as camouflage and paisley reimagined in a painterly way. He creates refined textured layers: a crisp shirt and woollen knits elegantly topped off with an unconstructed blazer. The overall silhouette is polished and put together yet appears charmingly undone. Colours are deep and muted with military inspired tones of army green, olive and khaki paired with winter mauve, rich burgundy and fresh pops of mint green. MODERN RETRO PUNCH The modern retro gentleman has bold art-school charm, inspired by minimalist design and 60’s pop he inhabits a world filled with glorious colour and jazzy beats. The silhouette hints at a mod revival with retro-streamlined styles, which are given a contemporary update with oversized jackets and longer length tees. In this delivery tonal layering is executed as an art form revealing an obsession with textures and shades. Prints are geometric and abstract while the palette is a punchy mix that aims for maximum contrast. We see bold combinations of atomic orange alongside Danish blue or an unexpected twist with fresh mint and deep purple. CITY NOMADIC ESCAPE With city wits and outdoor smarts our urban no-mad takes cues from both worlds. Passing city limits and heading into nature he is inspired by wild rugged references of Americana. The out-of-doors inspiration is reflected in oversized down jackets, bouclé textured sweaters and blanket inspired checks. Materials boast their natural roots with wool, shearling and leather. We head back to the urban landscape of the city with 70’s rock inspired artworks and grainy graphic prints. The palette borrows generously from nature with colours such as moon rock, bone white and shearling melange; these tones are offset with racy shades of aurora red and electric blue. Take style inspiration from Mick Jagger, rocking the stage fuelled by 70’s glam and fame.
